In 2020, the Russian Maritime Week, organized by SIMBF, became the largest maritime congress and exhibition event in the Russian Federation and one of the largest in the world in terms of the range and types of naval armaments presented, as well as in terms of the total displacement of the ships and vessels that took part in it.
The holding of in‑person SIMBF congress and exhibition events has been suspended since 2022 for security reasons.
